As you may have seen in the mainstream UK press, the Balearic Government have brought in a new ‘Sustainable Tourism Tax’ – also known as the Eco tax. After months of speculation, it has now been confirmed that from July 1st, all visitors to the Balearic Islands will be charged a levy based on the number of nights they are staying. The tax is €1.10 per person per night and must be collected on arrival when you check into your accommodation.
We hope all our clients arriving from July onwards understand that this charge is beyond our control and we are required by law to collect it on arrival, to pay to the island government. The law applies to all rented accommodation, hotels, villas and other self-catering accommodation in Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca.
