Ibiza opening party 2017 gossip | say Hï to disco toilets

Ibiza opening party 2017 gossip

The whole island waited with bated breath for that star of the Ibiza opening party 2017 season, the maiden disco voyage of Hï Ibiza. The new owners of the nightclub previously known as Space had promised a new concept in clubbing. Bigger, better and blingier than anything that had happened on the island, yo. Your Ibiza Villas 2000 bloggers wanted to know if it lived up to the hype. The verdict?

Brilliant line-up

The line-up was as fat as fat can be. Obese, even. With the likes of Luciano dropping atom-sized techno-bombs to the roaring delight of those €14-a-small-bottle-of-beer paying punters, the music was always going to be world-class epic.

Extravagant mis-en-scene

The owners of Hï have clearly spared no expense on the lavish scenery, decor and performers. The Magic Garden went down well and it really felt like you were in some kind of VIP Alice in Wonderland for grown-ups (if you had forked out for the VIP wristband, that is, ahem).

Better save up

Wondrous too were the prices at the bar. €10 gets you a coke. At €14 for a small bottle of Heineken, there were a few watering eyes gazing mournfully upon their quickly empty wallets. Some would say this is only a small hike on the usual €12-a-beer price-tag of many Ibiza superclubs, but it still made €18 for a rum and coke (or €20 for a vodka & coke) seem almost like a bargain. Is that weird?

And the star of the show was…

Melon Bomb. In the toilets. Yes dear reader, the toilets were…well…the best darn toilets we’ve ever seen (or heard) in our lives. The fabulous, fruity Melon Bomb lads knocked everyone’s socks off with their badass grooves down in the dunny. It really was the place to be. As yet, the toilets do not have a VIP section. The loos were avin’ it, period. A few of us older cheesy quavers, who remember the disco loos in Manumission back in the day, almost shed a nostalgic tear. Check it out:

Here’s what the social media grapevine had to say:

Apart from paying 14€ for a beer and 18€ for a single rum and coke it was a fanastic night! ?

€14 for a bottle of Heinekin! It looks pretty amazing but there are quite a lot of VIP areas you can’t go in. Very nice Magic Garden. And large glam toilets with a DJ booth which is where Melon Bomb played all night – that was the place to be!

Half the place was exclusive access only. Toilets were the only place to be!

Who was the DJ in the party toilets? ???  amazing!

We recommend you shimmy on over yourselves this year. Hï five to disco toilets. Yeh.
